After graduating from the University of Reading in 1994 with a BSc in Animal Science, Sheila studied veterinary medicine at the University of London, graduating in 1998. Sheila then spent five years in small animal practice before undertaking a Feline advisory Bureau Residency in Feline Medicine at the University of Bristol.
 Since completing her residency, Sheila has spent 10 years in small animal medicine referral practice as well as a working for two commercial veterinary laboratories. She acquired the ECVIM Diploma in Internal Medicine in September 2010 and is a European Veterinary Specialist in Internal Medicine and an RCVS Recognised Specialist in Feline Medicine. Sheila has lectured nationally and internationally on all aspects of Feline Medicine. She is a senior tutor for the Feline Medicine distance education course for the Centre for Veterinary education (University of Sydney). Sheila is passionate about all areas of feline medicine but has a specific interest in feline renal and ureteric disease. Sheila is the Director of the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS), a not for profit organisation which awards postgraduate qualifications for vets and vet nurses internationally. Sheila lives in Wiltshire with her partner James and is owned by her cat Hugo!
