About the qualification
The ANZCVS Examination in Medicine of Cats leads to Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (MANZCVS) Qualification. The examination has the proud support of ISFM, which has adopted it as its officially recognised postgraduate examination.
Am I eligible?
The ANZCVS examination is available to veterinarians with at least three and a half years of full time or equivalent experience in clinical practice.
What does it cover?
The examination covers all facets of feline medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology, nutrition and behaviour. There is a well-documented subject guideline study guide, with a reading list of recommended textbooks and journals.
What does the examination consist of?
- 1 x 2-hour written paper concerning basic sciences and pathophysiology
- 1 x 2-hour written paper concerning more clinical and practical aspects of feline medicine
- 1 x 45 minute (approx) oral examination
When and where will the exams be held?
The written examination will be held during June 2018 and will be available at several venues throughout the UK and possibly Europe.
The oral examination will be held over 2 days in August 2018 at a venue in the UK.
What will it cost?
The approx cost of sitting the examination is $2500 AUD (TBC)
The administration component of the fee is 25% and is non-refundable.
Closing date for applications: 31 October 2017.
Applications received after 31 October and before 30 November will be charged an additional $A50 late lodgement fee.
Candidates withdrawing from the examination less than 100 days prior to the written examination i.e. after 23 February 2018 will forfeit the entire fee.
