Following graduation from the University of Liverpool in 2005, I worked in small animal practice for 2 years. I undertook my PhD at the Royal Veterinary College, London studying chronic kidney disease (CKD) in cats. I completed my residency in feline medicine sponsored by International Cat Care at the University of Bristol obtaining my European Diploma in Small Animal Internal Medicine and RCVS Feline Specialist status in 2016. I currently hold a Wellcome Trust clinical postdoctoral fellowship and I am based in Bristol Renal, University of Bristol. My research interests include CKD, measurement of glomerular filtration rate, diabetic nephropathy and comparative aspects of kidney disease. I am a recipient of the International Renal Interest Society award and member of the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy Veterinary Committee.
