Since graduating in 1994 I have always worked in a hospital because is where I fell professional realized.
After 18 years of intense dedication to clinical practice, with a lot of CPD (including, in 2006 a master’s degree in emerging infectious diseases by the Faculty of Human Medicine) I challenge myself and in 2012 I decided to embrace an innovating project: the first Veterinary Hospital in Portugal, exclusively for cats. Because it is imperious to have specific education in feline medicine to coordinate a cat Hospital, in 2017 I got the MANZCVS in Feline Medicine.
After nine years, the Cat Hospital has a team of 25 collaborators. It was, it still is, a challenging and amazing project.
Throughout the years I presented free papers, posters and was invited to speak at specialised congresses.
Undergoing projects:
To continue as the clinical director of Hospital do Gato group with the aim of establishing an
increasingly differentiated and multidisciplinary team. I continue collaborating monthly with specialised magazines concerning medicine and feline behaviour, to contribute to the education of the public regarding the characteristics of the feline species.
