Carl graduated from the University of Sydney in 2003 and worked in small animal practices in the UK until 2007. He completed a post-graduate practitioner certificate in Feline practice in this time as well as undertaking charity work on the Greek island of Aegina.

In 2007 he moved to the Small Animal Specialist Hospital(as on Bondi vet) in Sydney and started work in the Feline medicine department.

In 2009 he attained Membership(by examination) of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and started a residency-based Fellowship training program in Feline medicine(specialist training). He completed this program in 2012 and moved to work at JCU Vet at James Cook University.

Carl has published three articles in the international peer-reviewed Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery and has examined and mentored other veterinarians for qualifications in Feline medicine. He is an Adjunct senior lecturer at James Cook University.

Carl opened Tropical Queensland Cat Clinic in 2014 and hopes to sit for specialist exams in the next couple of years.
