Diane Addie qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Glasgow University, spent eight years in small animal practice, then returned to Glasgow University Veterinary School to earn her PhD in the subject of feline coronavirus (FCoV) / feline infectious peritonitis (FIP).

She takes this opportunity to thank the many veterinary surgeons and cat guardians who sent data and samples from their cats and who made it possible to do over three decades of research in FCoV / FIP on naturally infected cats without ever having to experiment on laboratory cats. Her FCoV/FIP website is www.catvirus.com. She has been a member of the European Advisory Board of Cat Disease since its inception.
