Harry is our Global Advisor on Cat Population Management.

Harry Eckman has spent more than 25 years working in animal welfare. Most recently he was CEO of the World Cetacean Alliance, the world’s largest marine conservation partnership.

Prior to that, Harry was the co-founder and CEO of Change For Animals Foundation (CFAF), and an expert consultant for organisations like IFAW, Four Paws International, Human Behaviour Change for Animals, and Dogs Trust.

Throughout his career, Harry has worked with hundreds of animal protection groups around the world. His work has included strategic planning and capacity development; stray animal population management, disaster response; lobbying to end wildlife in captivity and the illegal wildlife trade; campaigning to end the dog and cat meat trades; incorporating human behaviour change concepts into animal welfare programs; and improving welfare standards in shelters and veterinary facilities.

Harry was born in London but lives in Portugal with his wife, 3 cats and a dog.
