Ed Shillabeer, a practitioner from Peverell, Plymouth, will be walking from Plymouth to London in late June (June 28–July 4) to raise funds for International Cat Care. This 'Race for cats' is supported by Ceva.
Ed's route will include Exeter, Taunton, Langford, the iCatCare headquarters in Tisbury, Kingsclere, the Amersham headquarters of Ceva, and finish in London.
Ed, a Life Member of International Cat Care, has a long history of fundraising for charities and is undertaking his 'Race for cats' to celebrate his 50 years in veterinary practice.
This is the second sponsored racewalk Ed has undertaken to raise money for iCatCare. In April 2013 he raised over £600 by racewalking for 15 hours over 75 miles.
Ed has been racewalking for more years than he has been in practice. In 2011, he took part in the 20 km racewalk world championship in Sacramento, USA, where he won the 70–74-year-old category with a time of 2:03:27.
You will be able to follow Ed’s progress on iCatCare’s facebook page.
Pledge your support or make a donation to help improve the lives of cats around the world via Ed's Just Giving page.
