University of Bristol Feline Elective prize giving 2019

Final year veterinary students are celebrating after completing the University of Bristol’s four-week Feline Elective Course, which took place at Langford Vets’ Feline Centre. The students all spent time in the Feline Centre where they attended a variety of seminars with guest speakers and produced a case report on an interesting feline patient they had seen. The students also visited a large Cats Protection shelter to learn first-hand about shelter medicine.

International Cat Care (iCatCare) sponsored part of the Feline Elective Prize with a year’s membership of the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM), the charity’s veterinary division; this was won by Anaïs King, who also received the BSAVA Manual of Feline Practice, donated by BSAVA. A runner-up prize, donated by Dechra, of a pediatric stethoscope, was awarded to Laura Champ. All students also received iCatCare goodie bags.
