Yaiza graduated from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2002. She started specialising in feline medicine in 2009, obtained her GP Cert Feline Practice (ESVPS) in 2010, and earned the ANZCVS membership (Medicine of Cats) in 2016. In 2017, she was accredited by RCVS and AVEPA as an advanced practitioner in Feline Medicine. After that, she obtained the ISFM Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour. She is part of the Clinical Review Team of RCVS Knowledge- InFocus and has contributed to the veterinary postgraduate education field through podcasts, articles, and conferences. Yaiza works as ISFM Community Coordinator and as a small animal clinician in the North West of the UK.
