ISFM finds great ‘cattitude’ at BSAVA Congress

The International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) has returned from this year’s BSAVA Congress delighted by the amount of great ‘cattitude’ it experienced from Congress attendees. Both vets and nurses flocked to the ISFM stand keen to find out more about the new look Cat Friendly Clinic programme. In fact during Congress, the charity experienced a record number of online applications from clinics hoping to gain accreditation.

Claire Bessant, Chief Executive of International Cat Care (the parent charity of ISFM) said: ‘It feels as though we are turning a corner, with more and more vets now really keen to show their clients that they have great cat credentials – and the clearest way to demonstrate this is by becoming a Cat Friendly Clinic.’

As part of the new look programme, there is now increased help and advice available to anyone wishing to make their clinic more cat friendly, including 100s of inspirational pictures available online at: There is also a bronze level of accreditation available for those clinics which have the ‘cattitude’ but whose facilities may previously have prevented them from becoming accredited.

During Congress, ISFM also gave away over 1,000 of its ‘How old is your cat poster?’ which due to popular demand is to be made available online as a downloadable A4 poster. Those preferring an A2 poster can make a £5 donation to International Cat Care and one will be sent out as a thank you. For more details go to:

Nurses were also able to find out more about ISFM’s recently launched nursing membership, which now has over 4,000 members from 50 different countries. Nurses can sign up for this free membership, which gives them access to the monthly e-publication Feline Focus and free monthly webinars, at:
