Photography competition 2017

About the competition

Thank you so much to everyone who entered our 2017 'Street Cats' photography competition – over 2,100 fantastic images from photographers in 56 different countries were sent in!

We were searching for images of street cats (also thought of as stray cats, feral cats or community cats) which captured the character of these amazing cats surviving without owners and reflected the reality of a life on the streets, in order to inspire change and raise awareness of the plight of street cats.

The judges from iCatCare had the privileged but difficult task of whittling the entries down to just 12 winners, whose images can be viewed below. For a behind the scenes look at the judging click here.

Congratulations to our winners – Jonas Chan, Mei Catherall, Chi Keung Wong, Rachel Hunter, Catan Ngan, Seyed Mohammad Fallah Firouzkouhi, Christine Lam Ying Loi, Igor Taranenko, Tulyawat Mahawong and Heiko Damme!

All twelve winners each received a certificate, copies of the 2018 calendar their image featured in and a selection of iCatCare merchandise. Winners were also invited to attend iCatCare’s annual awards event in London, UK, on 14 July 2017, where the overall winner, Catan Ngan, who received £500 in prize money and whose image graced the front cover of the calendar was announced.
