Here is a chance to go on a free shopping spree for your cat (or yourself) while helping iCatCare and cat inhaler provider Trudell Medical International.
In March, our feline behaviour specialist Dr Sarah Ellis will be giving a talk at our UK conference to vet nurses to educate them on how to help owners whose cats need medication through an inhaler. For many cats, this can be a struggle and thus a source of distress for both cat and owner. However, it does not need to be. Through gentle introductions using positive reinforcement, cats can learn to voluntarily place their faces into an inhaler and stay still to receive medication.
This is where we need your help.
Have you trained or are in the process of training your cat to use an inhaler? Dr Sarah Ellis would love to receive your videos of cats at all stages of their inhaler training for use in her talk. Whether your cat is a novice or a master to the inhaler, your videos will help us teach others how best to train in a cat friendly manner.
As a thank you from us to you, for every person that submits a video we will send you a step-by-step training handout and access to the recorded presentation to help hone those training skills. And for five lucky submissions (picked at random), you will receive a £100 Amazon voucher to spend as you wish – what might you or your cat like?
Thank you to Trudell Medical International, manufacturer of the AeroKat for their generous prizes.
Examples of the types of videos we would love to see include:
Cat learning to place face in the mask
Cat comfortable being gently restrained prior to and during mask being placed on the face
Cat comfortable with inhaling medication
Videos should be no longer than 2 minutes
Videos should be no larger than 20GB
Videos should be in the following formats MP4, MOV, WMV
You can submit more than one video but each person will only be added once to our prize draw
By entering you give permission to both iCatCare and Trudell Medical International to use your video for education purposes, eg, on their websites, in presentations, in course materials.
Submit your video here along with the relevant details – https://fabcats.wufoo.com/forms/cat-inhaler-video-submission/
