Dr. Hoummady graduated from Alfort Veterinary School (ENVA) in the Paris region and went on to study ethology and behaviour (MSC Fondamental ethology – Paris Sorbonne). Then she specialized herself in pets geriatrics, with a PhD about the frailty phenotype in veterinary medicine (CNRS i.e. French National Centre for Scientific Research). She pursued her academic background with a position as associate professor in animal nutrition and still gives lectures in animal behaviour, pets geriatrics and nutrition. Her main research focus is on ageing and mostly cognitive ageing of cats but also, palliative care and risk associated with non-conventional diets.
