Marisa graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1994. She is the Medical Director and Co-founder of Hospital Gattos in Madrid, an exclusive hospital for cats. In 2016, Marisa obtained the University Specialist Degree in Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Surgery from the University of Cáceres, at the Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Center. She obtained the AVEPA Accreditation in Feline Medicine in 2012, the PostGraduate Degree in Feline Medicine (Ifevet) in 2020, and the ESVPS General Practitioner Certificate in Feline Practice in 2011.

Marisa has published several books: she is co-author of the book Feline Infectious Diseases, (second edition in 2023 by editorial Edra and first edition in 2010, editorial Servet), author of the book Vaccinology in small animals, (Edit. Servet, 2019), co-author of the book Clinical Immunology of the cat (Edit. Amazing books, 2020), reviewer of the Atlas of information for the owner of the feline species (Edit. Servet 2021). In addition, she is the author of numerous clinical cases and original articles in national and international journals. She is a postgraduate professor of Feline Medicine in Spain and outside of Spain and a speaker at national and international conferences.
