Jen qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2012, and has worked in busy first opinion small animal practices since. After seeing a clear gap in the care provisions and knowledge between cats and dogs, she decided to study a postgraduate certificate in feline practice, in order to enhance her knowledge in feline medicine and surgery. By doing this, she was able to advise changes within practices to enable them to achieve cat friendly accreditation, as well as being able to offer an increased range of services to feline patients. She achieved RCVS Advanced Practitioner status in 2017 following the completion of her certificate, and uses the knowledge gained in studying everyday for her patients.

Currently her particular interests lie in feline endocrinology and cardiology, and she hopes to be able to undertake a further qualification in cardiology to be able to offer a first and second opinion service to existing and external patients.
