Irene graduated from the Norwegian school of veterinary science in 2001, after studying the first 3 years in Utrecht in the Netherlands. Made aware of Cats popularity and standing in the UK, Irene moved over the pond as a recent qualify in 2002. She worked there for 5.5 years in small animal clinics with her focus on cat medicine.

Irene returned to Norway in 2007, where she has continued working in small animal clinics with focus on felines.Irene represented non-UK veterinarians, as a member of the ESFM executive commity, for a brief period from 2009. She has attended feline medicine congresses yearly since 2000, as well as a lot of other feline and other CPD.

In 2011 she completed the ISFM/ANZCVS distance education course in feline medicine, and in 2017 she got her membership (MANZCVS) qualification in feline medicine. Her qualification equals ‘Advanced Practitioner in Feline Medicine’ in UK. Irene is currently (2023) working in brand new purpose build fasilities in Asker in Norway. With a feline only section, she is working towards making it ISFM feline friendly accredited. Irene enjoyes all aspects of feline medicine, soft tissue surgery and behaviour. ‘Iris’, the tortie, is her family’s master.
