Koki runs a private veterinary practice, Inuyama Westside Veterinary Clinic, mainly for small animals (plus some exotic species) in Japan. He obtained a MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour from University of Lincoln (UK) in 2012.  In his veterinary clinic, he sees problem behaviour cases in addition to general practice and has been awarded Gold Cat Friendly Clinic status from the International Society of Feline Medicine.  His special interest is pain relief since he believes that pain-related animal behaviour problems have significant impact on animal welfare and are often under recognised. In addition, Koki, teaches cat science courses at Nagoya Veterinary Nursing College for veterinary technicians. He is a member of Japanese Veterinary Society of Animal Behaviour.
