Following graduation from the University of Melbourne, Alison worked in private and emergency practice whilst completing her Masters in Veterinary Studies and membership of the ANZCVS. She completed a residency and PhD in Small Animal medicine through Massey University, and became a Diplomate of the ACVIM in 2013. Her PhD thesis investigated genomic variation of FIV and its effect on pathogenicity of the virus and vaccine efficacy. Alison is now a director of Peninsula Vet Emergency & Referral Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. Her main interests are in veterinary post-graduate education and feline medicine.
