International Cat Care's veterinary division – the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) – runs a worldwide programme which recognises clinics which are 'Cat Friendly'. The programme encourages clinics and their staff to be more 'cat friendly' and to have facilities and attitudes that help to reduce the stress of a veterinary visit for you and your cat. Accredited Cat Friendly Clinics have had to achieve minimum standards that help ensure your visit is as pleasant as possible for both you and your cat. To find clinics in your area which have achieved Cat Friendly Clinic status click here.
In North and South America the Cat Friendly Clinic scheme is being run by the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Please see their website for a list of accredited clinics in the Americas – http://www.catvets.com
ISFM also runs a 'Practice Membership' scheme. Clinics which are members have a certificate they can put up in the waiting room and you will know that they are regularly getting access to high quality information on the latest developments in the veterinary care of cats, via our journals, webinars and newsletters. All Cat Friendly Clinics are members but we also have Practices which don't have Cat Fridnly Clinic status, but have shown their committment to cat care by being a Practice Member. A list of these clinics can be accessed here.
