The Cat Professioal Courses are currently unavailable as they are being updated and rewritten for a new online modular format that will be avialable in 2017
International Cat Care will be offering the following qualifications more infomartion coming in 2017:
Our aims are to provide people who work with cats or those with an interest in this species with high quality learning materials in a modern electronic distance learning format that fits well around normal busy lives, yet is written and marked by experts in their fields.
We aim to improve the knowledge of those working with cats in a professional capacity such as those involved with rescue and those running or working in boarding catteries and therefore provide improve job satisfaction. Our breeder qualification will provide detailed information on feline reproduction and kitten care and behaviour. The qualifications will give those who wish to work to the highest level a way to differentiate themselves from others and show their commitment to cat care.
Both the foundation and advanced certificates take the form of detailed course notes and a workbook with questions relevant to the subject and are very practical in style. Both have been written and are marked by experts in their field including specialist veterinary surgeons and highly experienced behaviourists. The notes and workbooks are on a restricted section of our website. This breaks the course into manageable 'chunks' which we hope will be easier to fit around work and family, to be completed within a year, but at your own pace. Supplementary information relevant to each unit is available online at our resource centre. So, no travelling to examinations, you complete your work at home, in your own time and at your own pace.
Assessment is provided throughout the course with positive and encouraging feedback but no set examinations.
We have taken considerable care with our marking schemes and they are designed to provide positive feedback on each workbook and include detailed comments on areas that may need a little more work and those completed very well. Marks are awarded as a percentage and a fail/pass/merit/distinction for each unit, and averaged on completion of the course to allow an overall grade and certificate to be sent to you.
